Rain gauge - device used to measure precipitation
Drought - a period of very little precipitation
• Rain, snow, sleet, and hail are types of precipitation.
• A very heavy snowstorm with strong winds and low temperatures is called a blizzard.
• A rain gauge collects the rain that falls, which is usually measured in millimeters.
• A period when a region gets less precipitation than it normally does is called drought.
