7-1 How does water get into the atmosphere?
SWBAT: Trace the steps in the water cycle.
Evaporation - change from a liquid to a gas
Condensation – change from a gas to a liquid
Precipitation - water that falls to Earth’s surface from the atmosphere
Water cycle: repeated pattern of water movement between Earth and the atmosphere
• When liquid water takes in enough heat energy, it evaporates, or changes to a gas called water vapor.
• When water vapor loses enough heat, it condenses, or changes to liquid water.
• Precipitation is any form of water that falls from the atmosphere to Earth’s surface.
